Description

In this shiur we will continue to analyze man's role as a creator of worlds. The deepest desire of the Jewish people is the renewal of the cosmos. The Holy One did not complete the work of creation. When the Jew contemplates the spectacle of the waxing & waning of the moon, he sees in it a symbol of defectiveness & renewal. The Jewish people see their fate as bound up with the fate of existence as a whole. The perfection of creation is expressed in the actualization of the ideal Halacha in the real world. A new aspect of kedusha arises, and in typical style, the Rav contrasts the world outlook of Halachik man with that of the universal man of religion and the outlook of mysticism.
