In this shiur we will study the Baal HaMaor carefully. In many ways his interpretation of the Sugya is unique. Both in terms of the original question the Gemara raises against Rava, and in the understanding of Rav Papa's answer "BiLokei'ach". Rabenu Zerachya gives us two scenarios in the case of LoKei'ach but seems to have deliberately omitted a third possible scenario. We will try to suggest a new principle called "zechus LoKei'ach" and see if this will solve the mystery of the HaMaor's omission. To follow this shiur, we recommend geting a hold of the Oz VeHadar edition of the Gemorah, as they have re-set the type of the Baal HaMaor making it much easier to read.
