Description

R' Chaim Naeh discusses the theoretical possibility of repealling this gezeirah (while he still thinks it is in force). Rav Soloveitchik (quoted by R' Schachter) thinks it still applies. The ציץ אליעזר thinks that this גזירה really applies to all of hilchos shabbos but was associated with טוחן. He says that Chazal were concerned that people would be so concerned to heal they would violate Torah prohibitions for a חולה when it's not allowed.
