Description

What underlies the custom to prohibit melacha (labor) while the Chanuka candles are lit? Which categories of work are prohibited? Why did the women take this minhag upon themselves? Exactly where does this prohibition apply? Only in in the room where the candles are lit? Anywhere in the house? Even outside the house?
