Description

Rava attacks Rav Nachman from the case of a partnership on a slave or a non-kosher animal which was inherited by a first-born and an ordinary son. How can we create an equitable division in these cases? In this shiur we will study three approaches to the understanding of Rava's question on Rav Nachman, those of Rabbenu Tam, the Ri, & the Yad Ramah. All are explaining why Rava formulated his question in terms of a first-born and an ordinary son rather than the more simple case of two ordinary sons.
