Description

How is the Ish Halacha similar to the mathematician? In this chapter, the Rav develops the notion that the Man of Halacha approaches reality with an a priori relationship. He constructs a world of fixed statutes and fundamental principles, and examines concrete reality to determine if it corresponds to the requirements of the abstract Halacha. The is no phenomenon in the concrete world which a priori Halacha does not approach with its ideal standard.
