We begin our study of the first Mishna in Bava Batra and study the Gemorah's analysis of the word "mechitza" and the opening lie of the Mishna. In this shiur we will raise the complex issue regarding Hezek Reiah. Can one neighbor force the other to solve the problem of the invasion of privacy and compel him to give up space in his courtyard and share in the expenses of building a wall between the two neighbors in order to guarantee privacy? Or does the Halacha disregard the claim of Hezek Reiah and the Mishnah is discussing a case where the neighbors voluntarily committed themselves to build the wall?
