In this shiur we will study Tosfot and the Ramban on Chiya bar Rav, and try to compare and contrast the ruling of "pay the cost of a fence made of reeds" with the ruling of "pay the lower of the two costs" in the sugya of "one who plants trees in his friend's grain field without permission". Is there a contradiction between the two rulings?
