Description

Jewish Thought crystallized in the context of cultures in which Jews lived. This four part mini-course traces those developments during the four primary philosophical worlds in which Jews lived during the past two thousand years. Some of the assessments are speculative (especially in the first class) while others are better documented. This course acts as a bridge between this past year's history course and next year's philosophy course. Class #3 focuses on Mystical and Pietistic thought.
