Description
This shiur begins the new zman with a teaching from Malchus Shlomo, explaining that the true chiddush of Torah is not only the individual halachos, but the shikul — the holy weighing and balancing of Torah values in real life. A Jew needs a Torah mind to know how to balance seichel and emotion, learning and work, gevurah and compassion, personal ideals and family responsibility. When that balance is lost, even good intentions can become damaging. The Baal Shem Tov’s revolution was a meridah d’kedushah: not to leave Torah or Shulchan Aruch, but to restore the missing warmth, tefillah, deveikus, niggun, heart, and normalcy back into Yiddishkeit. The avodah in every generation is to continue that holy rebellion — to face new challenges with courage and balance, while remaining fully rooted in Torah.
