Why did the leaders of the Shevet decide to speak up now regarding how the inheritance of the daughters of Tzelafchad would impact them? While it would seem that this concern has no time frame, and the parsha certainly does not give one, our Sages saw this as a temporary measure; what changed after that first generation. Were the daughters of Tzelachad so unique, or were there other such women, including some who had already married? The Torah tells us of their marriages, did that all happen in the rather short time left in the 40th year, or is this based on prophecy of the future. Did they really have to marry them and what would happen if they chose to marry men from other shvatim?
