Description

While our shuls are called a מקדש מעט, it's doesn't mean a "small" temple, but rather a PARTIAL one- we are obligated to HONOR it, yet there is no Mitzvah to be in AWE of it [יראה]. Thus, you can enter your shul with leather shoes & a wallet in your pants pocket, two of many things forbidden when going to the REAL Temple, as the former is OUR home and the latter is GOD'S abode.
