Halacha:

Kiddush Levana

Description

Sources of kidush levana Gemara Sanhedrin, Maseches Sofrim. Rambam - the stars and planets have intellect and are self aware. Impact of this idea on pshat in birkas halevana, in Tehillim 19 (Hashamayim mesaprim... v' hu k'chasan... yasis k'gibor...), in Keil Adon. Two statements of the Magen Avraham - women are exempt from kidush levana, since it is zman gerama. Plus halachic and kabbalistc reasons they should not say it even voluntarily. Can one say kidush levana while standing on the moon?
