Near the end of the parsha, Hashem tells Moshe that He will be sending an angel to escort Am Yisrael in the conquest of Eretz Yisrael. Who is this angel? Why is he being sent? Is it a good thing or a punishment? Does Moshe accept or reject it? We surveyed many mefarshim outside of Chassidus before learning some beautiful approaches from The Rebbe of Belz, the Tiferet Shlomo, The Ishitzer, The Shem Mishmuel and Rebbe Nosson.
