Description

Rav Kook innovatively explains a difficult halacha in the laws of tefilin, by dealing with the issue of revealed "honor" which is not only subjective, but even depends on others and their approval, definitions, fads, styles etc. On the other hand holiness, e.g. the fruit of Eretz Yisrael, which can not be seen nor measured, not tasted, not understood and not felt, is on an even higher level, for it is unlimited, independent and essential. The class also deals with different levels of titles of rabbis (Rav, Rabbi, Rabban) but the highest level is simply his name, e.g. Hillel, Shamai, Abayeh etc.
