Description

This shiur describes the journey of Yaakov Avinu in Parshas Vayeitzei. Specifically, Yaakov Avinu went into galus in the beginning of the parsha, and he returned to Israel at the end of the parsha. In the context of learning the parsha, this shiur addresses different perspectives on galus and the importance of returning to Eretz Yisrael. In this shiur, Thanksgiving is discussed as a day which highlights the appreciation for America while not forgetting about Israel. Different views on the importance of living in Israel are discussed as well. The hashkafa of the Lubavitcher Rebbe and Rav Soloveitchik are highlighted at the end of the shiur.
