The good news is that the pasuk is fairly straightforward. The bad news ... is that the pasuk is fairly straightforward. Metzudas David barely commented. The Meiri gave a very general interpretation. Rabbeinu Yonah provided us with what to work with, but we weren't able to figure out what he was saying.
