Description
This drasha reflects on the meaning of Shmini Atzeret as a sacred pause — a moment to stop and recognize the miracles of our time. Two years after October 7th, as Israel witnesses the return of the remaining hostages and a series of astonishing military and political victories, we are called to see the yad Hashem guiding history. Yet, redemption (geulah) is not instant; it unfolds slowly, like the patient process described by Rav Kook and the Sfat Emet — a redemption that must be internalized through unity, faith, and compassion. Just as Moshe did not complete his mission but his tears gave life to the next generation’s triumph, so too the soldiers who fell in this war have sanctified our future.
