      Shavua Tov and Gmar Chatima Tova to Rabbi Feldman and all the YU educators. I found this article very interesting, thanks. But on the specific point of whether a student or the rebbe should decide on priorities, perhaps the article has missed a proof point from ערי מקלט. We learn that when a רוצח בשגגה is exiled, his rav also needs to go to the refuge city, so that the murderer will be able to continue his tora learning. It seems clear from here that, at least in this special case, the rav needs to subsume his personal aspirations and instead go to support his student!
