In our continuing analysis of the חטאות הפנימיות, we found that there appears to be quite a bit of redundancy in the description of the חטאת הצבור, since it is nearly identical in its procedure to the חטאת כהן המשיח - yet the slight (and not-so-slight) differences of nuance in the presentations are also telling. We analyze the odd phrasing - כאשר עשה לפר הראשון - as if when the חטאת הצבור is offered, the חטאת כהן משיח has already been offered just prior - even though these speak to two different circumstances. Surprising proposals are raised...
