Dedicated to my great rebbe, R' Binyamin Tabory zt"l, three general rules can allow saying half a verse: 1) If two people are planning to say the FULL verse, a delay is not a problem 2) It's only an issue in the Five Books of Moses, not in Ketuvim 3) Most compelling, if it's said as part of a PRAYER or PRAISE and NOT as obligatory verses, there is no issue
