רׇב אָדָם יִקְרָא אִישׁ חַסְדּוֹ וְאִישׁ אֱמוּנִים מִי יִמְצָא: This morning (5/10/21) we began learning one of the few pesukim in Mishlei that has anything to do with chesed (kindness). It shouldn't come as a surprise that Mishlei takes a very Mishleic approach to the topic of chesed. (I won't spoil that tautology by expanding on what it means here.) I should also mention that as the result of an honest and open discussion with my talmidim this past Shabbos, I wive decided that I will no longer be preparing for this shiur ahead of time. We - my talmidim and I - felt that we would all gain more if we all learn through the pesukim together, even if this means that the process will be messier and we'll encounter more dead ends. So that's what we're going to do from now on. In doing so, we will be following Bruce Lee's sage advice: "The great mistake is to anticipate the outcome of the engagement; you ought not to be thinking of whether it ends in victory or in defeat.
