מַיִם עֲמֻקִּים עֵצָה בְלֶב אִישׁ וְאִישׁ תְּבוּנָה יִדְלֶנָּה: This morning (5/6/21) we went back to our regularly scheduled Mishlei programming, continuing where we left off in Chapter 20. At first glance, today's pasuk looked fairly straightforward, but we soon discovered that it could be read in different ways even with the same translation and syntax. After coming up with our own idea, we learned the Rabbeinu Yonah's approach, which connected our pasuk with the topic we've been learning for the past week. We concluded with a quick reading of the Meiri, which allowed us to apply our pasuk to a topic that we had been discussing outside of our Mishlei shiur (i.e. prematurely delving too deeply into psychological self-knowledge). https://rabbischneeweiss.substack.com/
