Rav Ben-Haim grew up in Yerushalayim, in the 1940's, attended Porat Yosef, where he learned from Hacham Ezra Attieh and Hacham Ben Tzion Abba Shaul, and went on to become a Rav, Dayan, Posek, Shochet, Chazan, and Rosh Yeshiva in Iran and America. Rav Ben-Haim continues to serve as the chief rabbi of the United Mashadi Community of America and Av Bet Din of Badatz Mekor Haim in Queens.
