(טו) אַל תֶּאֱרֹב רָשָׁע לִנְוֵה צַדִּיק, אַל תְּשַׁדֵּד רִבְצוֹ: (טז) כִּי שֶׁבַע יִפּוֹל צַדִּיק וָקָם וּרְשָׁעִים יִכָּשְׁלוּ בְרָעָה: Synopsis: This morning (4/24/23), in our morning Mishlei shiur, we learned a pasuk which - to my mind - stands out as one of the most "inspiring" pesukim in Mishlei. However, I had never analyzed this pasuk in context, and the context complicates things to a surprising degree. We managed to sketch out two approaches - one literal and one metaphorical - and although we checked out three meforshim towards the end, but they didn't provide us with much to work with.
