[גִּיל] (גול) יָגִיל אֲבִי צַדִּיק [וְיוֹלֵד] (יולד) חָכָם (וישמח) [יִשְׂמַח] בּוֹ. יִשְׂמַח אָבִיךָ וְאִמֶּךָ וְתָגֵל יוֹלַדְתֶּךָ: Synopsis: This morning (12/19/22), in our morning Mishlei shiur, we encountered yet another pair of generic sounding "parents directing their kids to mussar" pesukim. After raising our questions as usual and exploring a few avenues, we decided to jump into the meforshim today. Several of the approaches we read didn't look particularly fruitful, but we encountered what seems to be a fundamental Rabbeinu Yonah.
