It's interesting because it's difficult to tell whether the pasuk is TOO general or TOO specific. We ended up learning two ideas: one based on seeing the nuance in what would otherwise be a conventional Mishleic stance on lying, and the other based on the Metzudas David's non-intuitive take on the pasuk. https://rabbischneeweiss.substack.com/
