תַּאֲוָה נִהְיָה תֶּעֱרַב לְנָפֶשׁ, וְתוֹעֲבַת כְּסִילִים סוּר מֵרָע: Last night (4/15/24), in our Monday Night Mishlei shiur, we learned a difficult-to-translate pasuk which was explicitly about the psychology of pleasure-seeking. Despite the difficutlies, we were rewarded (a) with several of our own interpretations of the pasuk, (b) some fundamental but nuanced insights into psychology from Metzudas David and Rabbeinu Yonah, and (c) a guest appearance by Shadal whose commentary dovetailed nicely with one of the major themes of Pesach! https://rabbischneeweiss.substack.com/
