Talmud Yerushalmi - the 70 days between Haman's letters and Mordechai's letters parallel the 70 days of mourning the Egyptians held for Yaakov Avinu's passing. What is the connection?! Yaakov Avinu Lo Meis. The Heavenly decree to annihilate the Jews. If the Jews are considered dead, the same might be with Yaakov Avinu... The 70 days in the Purim story are also the exact same calendar days as the 70 from Yaakov Avinu's passing!
