With all of the many many themes and concepts surrounding the Yomtov of Shavuos perhaps a unique one is focusing on overcoming all of the many things that can get in our way to truly accept Torah and overcome everything that tries to prevent us from doing so. We learned about how Moshe overcame the Angels with sincere desire for a system to allow us to have purpose and actualization. Quoting Rav Aryeh Lebowitz who quoted Rav Shragee Kalus we learned about the overcoming the distracting tree that made Dovid Hamelech leave this world. We learned about why we eat milchigs and not making any excuses when we encounter truth. We learned from Reb Nosson of Breslov about overcoming the urge to sleep and staying up all night. And lastly we learned about the heroic dedication of Rus to accept a life of dedication and not allow any challenges to throw her off of her love of Hashem.
