    1. Title: Mistake on your talk
      Author: Harold Klein

Dear Rabbi, I enjoyed your Drasha on Kedoshim Tehiyu. I must point out a serious error in your dialogue relating a story about Rabbi Finkelstein Z"L. You stated he smoked a cigarette on Shabbat. I did a bit of digging and found that he had put an unlit cigarette in his mouth prior to Shabbat and had it there after Shabbat had begun. This must be corrected out of deference to someone who truly was a Giant and contributed greatly to our body of text and thinking. Indeed, as you said, the Rabbis of JTS of that time from Finkelstein, Ginsburg, Lieberman, Heschel and others were men of great stature and fully frum that contributed invaluable work to our Jewish world. We can include Rabbi Halivini in that group - again others but excluding Kaplan. Anyway, please correct that error.
