Description

In this shiur, we examine the halachic issues involved in airplane travel on Shabbat, especially the possibility of a prohibition relating to the rabbinic decree against riding an animal on Shabbat. We then discuss some of the issues liable to arise when one experiences a flight delay and lands on Shabbat, such as how to navigate the prohibitions of carrying and muktzeh, whether the jet bridge has the status of a Reshut Hayachid, and what to do when your plane lands directly on the tarmac.
