Description

Jews have a tendency to be frugal, and this can sometimes be commendable, on the other hand we often find people over-protective of their money or time. This can often be measured by their one-way relationships with others. Some are even miserly when it comes to publicizing their own Torah or academic finds (worried that others may "steal" their idea), others with collections of the letters of great rabbis like Rav Kook, witholding them from the public for their own personal whims or gain. The Orchot Tzadikim adds that just as friendship demands time and money, so too having quality rabbis and today also youth directors often demands investing, and it's surely worth it, for nothing is more valuable than our children, and that's what's money is for.
