Why is there a well-established and achient custom to light a Menorah in shul over Chanukah [as it's not a home and the basic Mitzva is נר איש וביתו]? Different reasons are given with at least 3 ramifications: 1) Must there be a Minyan there? 2) Where in shul do you place it? 3) What time do you light it?
