הנביא עמוס היה מבין הנביאים הספרותיים הראשונים, שניבא במאה השמינית לפנה"ס בשומרון. הוא טבע כמה וכמה סגנונות ריטוריים שהנביאים, גם בני זמנו וגם הבאים אחריו, אימצו לעצמן. בשיעור מוצג תפקידו המתפתח של הנביא בישראל ומקומו של עמוס בהתפתחות זו. השיעור ניתן כחלק מ"ערב עיון" בתנ"ך המתקיים מדי שנה במזכרת בתיה.
