Description

Derashah for Parshat Behar 5784. Robert Frost's Mending Wall includes the advice, "Good fences make good neigbors." Which walls are bad (surrounding our fields during shemitah, the walls blocking a walled city from the fields outside), and which walls are good (Yerushalayim, chuppah, succah)? Walls defining a collaborative unit and enabling propinquity vs. Walls that exclude those who belong within.
