An @ohrtorahstone student maintenancing IDF tanks near the Gaza border told me that he was feeling somewhat disappointed that while many of his friends and peers were fighting on the frontlines, he had been left back to perform work that is, despite the physical exertion and technical mastery needed, considered less important than combat. What would you have told him to keep up his morale? My thoughts on Parshat Acharei Mot and an appreciation for the unsung heroes who keep Israel going during wartime and beyond.
