This shiur discusses the current hostage ciris in Israel from a Halachik perspective. There are many mekoros which speak to the sanctity of freeing captives. Yet, many other sources caution the saving of hostages when the deal will lead to future danger. In the current war, many strong emotions from the hostages' families are being heard. This shiur asks how those emotions affect the Halacha. The shiur connects this discussion to the conversation between Yaakov and Rachel when Rachel was unable to have children.
