In Shema we say that when we see the tzitzit we will remember the mitzvot, and when we remember them, we will do the mitzvot. The Chofetz Chaim has a mashal to explain the significance. Delivered to a vaad of shana aleph talmidim at Yeshivat Har Etzion, in their last meeting of the year.
