Description

In this Shiur, we examine the unusual Gemara in Berachot which allows a person to choose between following R' Yehuda and the Chachamim for the timing of Mincha and Maariv. We discuss a Machloket between Rabbeinu Yonah and Meiri about whether one can change their Tefillah patterns from day to day, and offer an explanation based on R' Soloveitchik and the Kehillot Yaakov. We also discuss the view of the Rambam, and allude to the issues that our discussion raises for the timing of early Shabbat minyanim.
