Rav Yosef Ergas Zy"a (1685-1730) was a talmudic genius, a halachic authority of note and the revered rabbinic leader of the Italian community of Livorno, Italy. Shomer Emunim is his masterpiece in which he expounds and clarifies the fundamental truths of pnimiyus haTorah.
