This Mishna deals with different scenarios where it is unclear whether the suspected mazik (owner of the animal that damages) must pay at all or whether he has to pay less than the nizak (owner of the damaged animal) is claiming. The famous halachik principle known as המוציא מחבירו עליו הראיה is applied in all these cases.
