Description

This mishna lists what it calls 4 primary categories of nezikin (known as avos). It then explains the need for the Torah to teach us each one separately by spelling out the distinct characteristics of each of these categories. The mishna ends by defining for us the common charachteristic (tzad hashaveh) of all these Avos Nezikin (ie. darchan l'hazik u'shmirasan alecha).
