Why was King David barred from building the Bet Hamikdash? The well known Midrash states that he was banned because of his wars and the Bet Hamikdash is a place of peace. Yet, another Midrash states that each of David's victims is battle was akin to a Korban that he brought to Hashem! So why was it left to his son Shlomo to follow through on all the plans that David already prepared?
