Rosh Hashanah seems like a paradoxical day. On the one hand, we coronate Hashem, and dedicate ourselves to higher spiritual ideals. On the other, we commemorate the world's creation. The Rebbe explains that humans instantiate this paradox. On the one hand, we're created from earth, but on the other, we carry the Divine Spirit. We have the capacity to elevate the mundane, and thereby erase the divide between the profane and the holy. מיוסד על מכתב כללי מעת כ״ק אדמו״ר ח"י אלול, ה'תשמ"ה
