Rav Soloveitchik explains that the word “Eicha" must be understood in the way that those letters first appear in the Torah, when God asks Adam HaRishon in the Garden of Eden: “Ayeka?”/”Where are you?” “Eicha” and “Ayeka” share the same letters because in order to repair that which has been destroyed, we first must be honest about ourselves and where we are.
