Description

Part of the inaugural Lehrhaus Live event, this Shiur considers Chazal's attitude toward the translation of the Torah into Greek (timely for 8th and 10th of Teves), challenges posed by Greek language and wisdom, and the resolution suggested by R. Aharon Lichtenstein. It then raises the question of whether this resolution, in many senses the basis of Modern Orthodoxy, can work within a framework of Postmodernism, in light of the recent Lehrhaus debate on this topic.
