Description

The well-known Baraitot of Hanukkah found in the 2nd chapter of Shabbat are read relatively seamlessly; a closer investigation into the language and structure of the Baraitot reveal numerous difficulties with their composition. Utilizing the findings of scholarship, old and new, leads to an unusual proposal about the provenance and intent of these Baraitot, starting with the mysterious "Mehadrin min haMehadrin"
