Description

Parsha & Hashkafa: the two names of Yaakov Avinu. Why did the שרו של עשו insist on replacing the name Yaakov with the name Yisrael? Why does Hashem insist on adding Yisrael as a second name? hy two names? Is Israel's claim to greatness based upon a relative comparison to the non-Jewish world? Or so we claim an independent greatness? Does Yaakov forfeit his שפלות והכנעה and replace it with glory and stature?
