Description

This shiur is in three parts. First we work to define kedusha, holiness. Why is kedusha consistent linked specifically to issues of food and arayot (sexual immorality)? What does that tell us about kedusha? And what does that tell us about the unique avodah in these two complex, personal and delicate areas of life? We than switch gears and get into applying principles of kedusha to eating specifically. How do we elevate our eating to make it holy? Finally, we discuss very practical tools for identifying healthy and unhealthy food in our problematically complex, modern food system. To give this practical discussion a Torah framework, we directly link these challenges into the local and historical conflict between Yaakov and Eisav.
